Community Groups Grant

Grants of up to £5,000 are available for not-for-profit constituted Community Groups working on larger, longer-term projects that benefit the local community. Applications for the upper limit should demonstrate transformational change.

Projects that will be supported include those that:

• will bring about Transformational Change for the wider community, or
• will help to improve the financial sustainability of the applicant’s organisation, or
• will address issued raised in Community Development Plans.

Eligibility

• Applications are invited from constituted community groups based on Mull, Iona Ulva, Gometra and Erraid for projects which benefit residents of those islands.
• Applicant organisations need not be based on Mull and Iona, but any grant offered shall be ring-fenced for the benefit of Mull and Iona
• Groups must have a bank account for which two or more signatures are required to authorise payments.
• You must be able to show how the project will be of clear benefit to the local community.

• This programme cannot support internal staff costs of the applicant
• Grants of up to £5,000 are available
• Projects which demonstrate transformational change for the applicant organisation will be favoured
• Applications should provide information on what expenditure is for
• Applicants must attach evidence of financial stability as a group
• Applications should demonstrate support from stakeholders and support within the wider community for the project
• If awarded the grant should be spent within 12 months and a reporting form must be completed or grant offer could be rescinded and money returned
• Repeat applications for the same project will not be accepted; however, applicants can apply for different projects
• Any unspent funds should be returned to The Waterfall Fund
• The grant cannot be paid out retrospectively
