Crisis Fund

The Crisis Fund is available when unexpected events occur. Individuals and community groups will be eligible to apply for funding up to £500 in urgent and unplanned circumstances. A quick response will be given to such applications. Open for applications year-round.

Individuals and community groups can apply for up to £500 in times of urgent and unplanned crises. The fund is not intended to relieve debt or help with seasonal changes to employment. Where these grants are needed by individual households, please be reassured that the applications are treated in strictest confidence by a small sub-group of Trustees and are dealt with as quickly as possible. These funds may be applied for year-round.

Eligibility

• Support is available for individuals or families living on Mull, Iona, Ulva or Erraid facing a personal emergency or crisis.
• Support is available for Individuals and constituted community groups based on Mull, Iona Ulva, Gometra and Erraid. Groups must have a bank account for which two or more signatures are required to authorise payments.

Information and Guidance

• Applications should provide information about your situation
• Grants of up to £500 are available
• This fund does generally not cover debt or foreseeable, voluntary changes in circumstances
• Examples of ways the crisis fund could help individuals or families include – meeting short term daily living expenses, rent payments, board/lodgings charges, travel expenses if you need to get off or on the island quickly, household items, food, or even childcare expenses when your circumstances suddenly make these unaffordable
• Examples of ways the crisis fund could help your community group include – contribution towards repairs of community vehicles, emergency maintenance following storm damage (not normal wear and tear or age related damage), etc.
• Each case will be viewed individually and may be subject to an interview with a Trustee
